Weight Loss Little Tricks

There are some some things I believe we all do that help us be successful at weight loss. Here are a couple of my favorites:

1) Drink protein shakes that have good quality ingredients including vitamins. It took me a long time but I finally got onto this weight loss secret bandwagon. I drink the following virtually every morning as it is low calorie, very satisfying and very good for my body:

- Spirutein (a fantastic brand I get at the Vitamin Shoppe) Exotic Red Fruit shake
- 1 heaping teaspoon of Psyllium (fiber)
- 1 heaping teaspoon flax
- 1 heaping teaspoon of liquid B12

This shake is not meant to be for weight loss but it is only 200 calories with milk. It is also delicious. I used to use the vanilla Spirutein and mix it with blueberries or strawberries but the Exotic Red Fruit shake is even better.

2) Not only will I use a protein shake as a meal replacement to help facilitate my weight loss, but I will often drink a shake an hour before a party or an evening out with the girls so that I fill up on good stuff rather than party food. Again, it is only 200 calories with milk so it still helps me meet my weight loss goals.

3) Substitute fresh veggies for chips with a dip. I love queso and simply can't pass it up. However, now I dip broccoli or cauliflower in queso rather than chips. It is a great way to sneak veggies in your diet and it tastes great. I do this with ranch and hummus, too!
